Floating Island

This scene is built up of pieces that were modelled in 3D Studio Max and Zbrush, then exported to the Unreal Tournament 3 Editor. It is based on a concept created by kouki1 @ deviantart.
When I first saw the concept this scene was based on, I was blown away. The colors and fantastical floating island were something I wanted to try replicating on my own. I spent a lot of time working out how to best scatter leaves on my tree, a main component of the scene, and finally settled on scattering planes with a particle system in 3D Studio Max. It was my very first foray into foliage.
The entire scene is 120,844 triangles in the Unreal 3 Editor
