Destiny Stargate Room

This scene was created based on the Destiny Stargate room featured in the show Stargate: Universe. It was created using a variety of tools including 3DS Max, Zbrush, Photoshop, and it is shown as it appears in the Unreal Tournament 3 Engine. I have also animated the stargate spinning up and activating featuring a particle I created myself, that video can be viewed below.
I have long been a fan of the Stargate series and when I saw the design for the new Stargate, I knew right away I wanted to build it. This project was especially fun for me because I experimented a lot with different shaders in Unreal as well as creating a new custom particle for the "whoosh" when the gate activates. I spent much time perfecting the gate itself, painting each chevron individually. Overall it was a very fun project.
In total I spent around 26 hours on this scene, including building the models, unwrapping, texturing, building shaders, animation, and lighting. It is built up of 6,212 quads/12,230 tris.
